Show sleep state and every region in host status - #67
The <key>hoststatus line now reflects Civ13's multi-world host.
An asleep world reads as "frozen in memory; a join or travel wakes it". A cold world reads as "stopped after its last save; a join or travel starts it". Before this, both showed as "port open" or "not running".
For a region host, Civ13's gaia_host.py status now returns a regions list. The line adds one row: Regions: Gaia: awake, 2 players; The Deep: asleep. The list is capped at 16 entries. Names are filtered to plain characters so they can't mention or ping anyone, and malformed entries are skipped.
This needs the Civ13 side (the regions list in status), which follows the Civ13 travel-wake PR. Until then an older host simply sends no regions and the line is unchanged.
Checks: php -l is clean. I ran describe() directly against the new cases in tests/local/gaia-host.php and they match. I didn't run the full local test here because there's no vendor directory in this session.
Server status descriptions now distinguish asleep and cold states from the listening-based status.
Status details can include up to 16 valid regions, with sanitized names and states and integer player counts when available. Malformed region entries are omitted, and long Unicode names are safely truncated.
Civ13's gaia_host.py status now reports asleep and cold worlds and, for a
region host, a regions list (Civ13 PR #3806 follow-up). The host status
line names the sleep state and adds one line with each region's state and
players. Region names are filtered to plain text so they cannot ping.

Summary
Status and region descriptions src/Civ13/Local/GaiaHostControl.php, tests/local/gaia-host.php
The description distinguishes asleep and cold states. It appends details for up to 16 valid regions, sanitizes names and states, and includes integer player counts. Tests cover these outputs, malformed entries, and Unicode-safe name truncation.
No merge-blocking risk is established by the supplied evidence.
Security architecture risk: Low · up to ce59c
The change retains the existing restricted, read-only status path and filters the new region text before display. No permission bypass or new host-control authority was identified. Remaining uncertainty concerns the separate host script’s data provenance and field bounds.
Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The demonstrated exposure is additional region names, states, and player counts in responses from the configured host-status command. The inspected change does not add a host target selector, execution action, or credential-bearing operation.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — The command remains registered for the Ambassador role. HostStatus rejects an unconfigured Gaia host, while GaiaHostControl validates configured executable, script, and configuration paths and validates the action before execution. New region values are used only after the response reaches the rendering stage.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
observed — The reply helper sends content up to 2,000 bytes as a message, up to 4,096 bytes as an embed, and larger content as an attachment. This provides existing handling for expanded descriptions, although the new region state field itself has no length bound.
Hardening Proposals
proposed — Consider an explicit region-state allowlist or display-length cap so that output size does not depend on producer-side validation. This is defense in depth, not a verified attacker-reachable vulnerability.

The title describes the server state and region status changes. Region output is capped at 16 entries, so "every region" is not precise.

- Line 49: Update the cold-world message in the status mapping to clarify that
direct joining cannot start a cold world because its game port is not listening;
identify a launcher wake request or travel as the paths that ask the doorman to
start it.
- Line 69: Update the region-name filter in the `$name` assignment to allow
Unicode combining marks alongside the currently permitted characters. Preserve
the mention-safety filtering and the existing 64-character limit.
- Line 69: Update the region-name normalization that assigns $name to truncate
by UTF-8 characters rather than bytes, preserving the existing sanitization and
limiting the result to 64 characters without splitting a multibyte character.
