📝 Why & how

Adds ten Expo libraries from the author of @hzblj/zyplot (#2706). Each one lives in its own monorepo, so githubUrl points at packages/<name>, npmPkg is set, and examples links the repo's apps/example.

  • @hzblj/kara-ui: a native-first design system for Expo, real SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose views through @expo/ui, styled by one token-typed sx engine. Docs: https://www.kara.janblazej.dev
  • @hzblj/expo-app-icons: alternate app icons, generated by a config plugin and switched at runtime.
  • @hzblj/expo-flags-kit: country flags as a native vector view (FlagKit artwork).
  • @hzblj/expo-native-icons: an app's SVG icons as iOS asset catalog images and Android vector drawables, with typed names and a native view.
  • @hzblj/expo-paypal: PayPal on the native PayPal SDK 3 (Checkout with App Switch, Pay Later, vaulting, cards with 3D Secure, the branded buttons).
  • @hzblj/expo-rich-haptics: UIKit feedback and Core Haptics patterns on iOS, the system's haptic feedback and rich primitives on Android.
  • @hzblj/expo-speech: speech to text on SpeechAnalyzer / SFSpeechRecognizer and Android's on-device SpeechRecognizer, with per-word timing.
  • @hzblj/expo-translation: on-device translation on Apple's Translation framework and ML Kit.
  • @hzblj/expo-waveform: audio waveforms analysed on the device and drawn by a native view that follows playback.
  • @hzblj/expo-zoom-transition: Expo Router pushes that grow out of the view they were opened from (UIKit's zoom transition, Material's container transform).

Notes:

  • All of them ship native code through the Expo Modules API, so they need a development build, not Expo Go. newArchitecture: true for the same reason.
  • web: true only on expo-flags-kit, which has a DOM implementation for react-native-web.
  • configPlugin is left to automatic detection (app.plugin.js is in files where there is one).

Heads-up on CI: eight of these were first published on 23 and 24 October, and the npm downloads API (data through 22 October) does not know them yet, so ci:validate reports them as missing. I will re-trigger the check once the API catches up. kara-ui and expo-app-icons already pass.

✅ Checklist

  • Added library to react-native-libraries.json
