This is a continuation of #23881 which was closed prematurely.
This one introduces further fixes related to RooFit (included in the release notes).
@guitargeek as discussed offline, I am not including the changes related to the removal of the legacy evaluation mode, given that those would be more involved. With a local build of ROOT I don't see warnings related to that, but let's see if the CI agrees here.
@pcanal @jblomer there is still one I/O related class scheduled for removal in 6.44,
